1.5 - The Historical One

by Victor Benevides

From the past we learn

We have now taken almost all datasets out of beta, which means there will be historical data going back as far as Jan 1 2015, if the data exists that far back of course.

Furthermore, we have also released a freemium plan to the API, where people without the Data Pro plan, will also be able to use the API

Changelog

  • National Grid datasets fully released
  • Sheffield Sollar fully released
  • ERCOT V1 fully released
  • Freemium plan available

Unreleased

  • EPEX Raw data for the other contracts (1H, 2H, 4H)
  • EPEX Reference prices (HH and Blended)
  • Elexon out of BETA
  • Query Parameters Standardisation
  • EPEX Auctions

EPEX Raw data (All) + GB Power Curves + Faster NG and Elexon

We have released an improvement for our EPEX integration, now offering data on trades for all modalities, hh, 1h, 2h, 4h.

We have also released GB Hourly Power Curves, a forecast of energy prices going forward into the future with hourly granularity.

Finally, we have also released optimisation for our ELEXON and National Grid datasets, which means you should now have a faster response time when querying them

Changelog

We have released the following new datasets:

  • GB Hourly Power Curves
  • EPEX Raw data for all contracts
  • Optimization of ELEXON and National Grid datasets

Unreleased

  • EPEX Reference prices (HH and Blended)
  • Datasets out of BETA (Historical Data)
  • Query Parameters Standardisation

1.3.1 - EPEX, Parsimoniously

by Victor Benevides

EPEX Raw data (Half Hourly Product)

We have released the initial datasets from our EPEX M7 integration. This is a work we've been doing for quite a while, and I am happy to show the first fruits from it.

Currently, the endpoints will only show information about the products regarding the half hourly period. We will change that on the next release to cover all modalities of trade.

Soon, we will also be releasing two extra endpoints, regarding the reference price calculations on EPEX, one taking into consideration only the HH product and another blended one, for those already used to EPEX - RPD and RPD_HH.

There might be some extras...or not, but I wouldn't dare to ruin any surprises

Changelog

We have released the following new datasets:

  • EPEX Continuous Intra Day Contract Info Report
  • EPEX Continuous Intra Day Public Trade Confirmation Report

Unreleased

  • EPEX Raw data for the other contracts (1H, 2H, 4H)
  • EPEX Reference prices (HH and Blended)
  • Datasets out of BETA (Historical Data)
  • Query Parameters Standardisation

Solar Generation Forecast, 10Hz Frequency, ERCOT, UX/UI

This is the biggest release in the API history in terms of different datasets at a time. It is also the first time we go beyond just GB and take our first baby step towards our global ambitions.

Changelog

We have released the following new datasets:

  • Sheffield Solar: State of the art models for the forecast of solar energy generation in Great Britain, both in national aggregation as well as local (by GSP/PES)
  • 10 Hz Frequency Data: This data is measured by ourselves in our Birmingham office with our own hardware.
  • ERCOT: Initial batch of datasets for the ERCOT ISO, responsible for Texas, US.
We have also released UX/UI improvements: This should enable you better usability of the documentation, with examples answers of the API, also allowing you to know exactly what the dataset will provide without necessarily making the API call. Especially useful if you don't yet have access to our API.

Today we released version 1.2 of the API!
It brings two great new things!

  1. We now have many more National Grid datasets on BETA (no historical data yet). We will still add a few more datasets to the api on the upcoming releases, but the bulk of it is there, including some that were not available on the old API. We will also work on historical data for those datasets.
  2. We now have improved analytics where we can understand which datasets provide the most value to our users and improved monitoring capacity, allowing use to develop and maintain a higher level of service.

Changelog

  • New National Grid Datasets launched in BETA
  • New analytics capabilities implemented

Today we have launched our Integration with Elexon Iris more info here

They have been released in BETA Status, meaning historical data still needs to be available. We will be adding it soon (1-2 weeks), together with removing the BETA status of this dataset.
